Troop 95 Sussex, at a Glance.

Our Troop

Troop 95 is sponsored by Horne-Mudlitz VFW Post No. 6377 in Sussex. We belong to the Potowatomi Area Council and the North District. Troop 95 has approximately 25 active scouts. We enjoy various activities including camping, cooking and participating in council sponsored activities. The scouts choose what activities they wish to participate in during their annual planning meeting at the beginning of the year.

Meetings

Our troop meetings are typically held on every other Monday of the month, from 7-8:30PM, at the Horne-Mudlitz VFW Post located at W232N6342 Waukesha Avenue, Sussex, WI. The 1st Monday is devoted to the Patrol Leaders Council meeting. During the 2nd troop meeting of each month we hold a parent meeting to keep parents informed of announcements and upcoming activities. Parents are encouraged to participate as we solicit feedback and discuss new ideas for future Scouting Activities and Outings.

Scout Leadership

Troop 95 is a scout led troop. The troop is currently comprised of two patrols. The scouts are led by a Senior Patrol Leader who relies on two Patrol Leaders elected by their patrols. The Patrol Leader Council (PLC) plans the troop meetings and outings with guidance from the Scoutmaster and Assistant Scoutmasters.

Adult Leadership

Troop 95 has an active parent base. We encourage parents to help out in a variety of ways ranging from driving scouts to various outings, to serving in leadership positions within our Troop. Parents are also encouraged to serve as merit badge counselors. Our Troop Committee meets the second Tuesday each month to discuss ongoing troop issues and to ensure troop’s success and safety.
